Our Approach
The Intent Pharmaceuticals approach leverages innovative analysis of massive transcriptomic signature repositories combined with our scientists' domain expertise.
Defining the disease
At Intent Pharmaceuticals, we combine massive transcriptomic data libraries with high-performance computing to robustly identify the gene expression signatures resulting from the loss of function of specific genes. This analysis provides a comprehensive map of the downstream effects of genetic mutations.

Selecting optimal therapies
We then match these molecular signatures to drugs. In addition to their canonical pharmacologic functions, drugs have myriad molecular effects on cells. We use transcriptomics to identify those effects in a comprehensive fashion, far beyond the established "mechanism of action" of these drugs. We can then identify which drugs optimally reverse the molecular signature of pathologic gene mutations.
Expert review
The output of this analysis is then reviewed by human data curators with domain expertise in molecular biology, medicine, and pathophysiology. This second-tier analysis identifies biological themes in the data analysis to provide further insight and confidence in the results. Literature related to the gene of interest and candidate therapies is also reviewed.
